i dont think any are

Canuckbreakwater, I'm wondering why they would have sent an e-mail notification of waitlist status? Dd you also get a snail-mail letter? We still haven't heard, which I assume means a rejection, but they said something was being mailed.

he's an international

Waitlists are not binding. If you get off the waitlist, you can then decide if you want to go.

Just as a point of information, and just to keep a reality check, Rochester did not take anyone from the waitlist last year; their yield was higher than expected.

Chedva, is this info about the waitlist stats available on their website?

Actualy, one of my teachers called the U of R to find out how many they accept from the waitlist, and they said that they have never taken anyone from it. Apparently though this year the acceptance rate dropped drastically. They said they accepted less that 10% of their applicants. Out of 4 people that applied from my school, I think I was the only one accepted, but I did early decision.

I hope that this year is different, and they end up accepting people from the waitlist!

No, the info isn't on the website as far as I know. I just found out through conversations at the beginning of this year.

well if either get waitlisted/accepted today or tomorrow, then i will be going on a tour at UoR monday, i will try to find out for you guys.

Chedva, thanks. Ripken, good luck and I hope you have this and other good schools to choose from.

alyssa - less than 10% acceptance rate?

Oh, and I also know that there were quite a few forced triples in the dorms this year. I doubt they'd go to the waitlist to create that situation!

I honestly doubt it's that low... I know that it definately took a significant dive though. Like I said, my friend told me that her defferal notice said they had around 12000 applicants, and there is only room for like 1182 new freshmen.

I remember when we took the tour they said they had under-enrolled in years past and actually had had a lot of dorm space, so this is definitely a switch!

My son's alternate notice didn't give numbers.

I got a rejection letter today

12000 waitlisted people. that's a lot

kevster-- it was 12000 applicants, 3% waitlisted.
