Hi, I applied to Vassar as a RD applicant. I am so anxious to hear from Vassar. I think that all RD applicants only need to wait 32 more days. So, anyone interested to express their sentiments can do so right here. I live in Riverdale, New York. Keep in touch!

Hey, I also applied RD to Vassar. I was wondering, has anyone ever heard of Vassar mailing the decisions earlier, because I really want to know. Vassar's kinda my first choice right now except I don't want to get my heart too set on it because i probably will be rejected. i hope a lot of us get in. Best of luck to everyone!!!

I'm anxious to hear too. Nobody's contacted me about an interview yet, and I was really counting on an interview to boost my application. I checked the little box! I said I wanted one! Why hasn't anyone contacted me?

You should call them as soon as possible to get an interview. It might be too late for it to matter now though. I don't think Vassar puts a lot of weight on the interview, at least compared to several other liberal arts schools.

which LACs put a lot of weight on the interview?...

From my experience, Vassar doesn't.

I know that the admissions committee is reviewing applications and making decisions at this moment. I haven't heard about mailing the decisions earlier. I just know they send decisions around late March and no later than April 3. If anyone has concerns about the interview, you should contact the school. Also, an interview is recommended but not necessary. I think that a Vassar interview adds more points to the admission process, because it is the only way interviewers (also volunteer workers in the admission process) can see if students are a really good match for Vassar.
Moocow was has been your experience with Vassar?

I know Bates weighs the interview a lot, they say if you don't have one you are at a disadvantage.
LACs definetly weigh interview more than universities because they are much smaller and it is more important to build a community. I'm not sure what other LACs value interview a lot, I know they are strongly recommended or recommended, you have to check individually with each school.

So when exactly is late March, the 15th, 20th, 25th, 31st ? .... I never know exactly what they mean when they say that. I guess I'll just have to wait to find out.

Late March means the last week of this month.

Only 20 more days for April 1st!

Well, if you are accepted, you might hear from them by email around March 26th.

Vassar notifies by e-mail??? I've never heard that before, am i completely out of it?
i hope they do, less waiting time.

I don't know about Vassar's email notification, but I do know that once you are accepted you receive a call from your interviewer or other Vassar alumni. If they do say something by email, I will be more than thrilled because I am constantly checking my email and their website. If you check the Vassar website, there is already a planned live chat for accepted students, the Class of 2009. This counts the early admits and the ones being admitted very soon. So I guess we will be receiving the notification before April 1st or on that day.
Best Wishes To All

I'm sorry, but whether it's a call or email might depend on where you are from. For int'ls, it's very likely to be in the email, because I have confirmed it with a Vassar int'l student admitted 2 years ago. If you are a US citizen, it should be a different case. Many college treat the two groups differently as we know.

Guys, I went to visit Vassar this Tuesday, and I heard from the students that decisions were made already. An admission couselor said that they will send the decisions March 25th, this coming Friday.

Ahhhh, I wish they would just send us the decisions as soon as they made them. I just want to know either way so I can move on or schedule a visit.

If they mail them on the 25th (do they have mail on Good Friday?), could we get them the next day? or would we have to wait until the 27th or 28th? I wish the post office was open on sundays!!! :)

The postal service is IN operation on both Good Friday and Easter Monday. No chance of hearing from Vassar online, right?

how many people are accepted and how many enroll

Less Than 12 Days!

if they send them out on march 25th shouldn't the nearby states get them on the 26th?

Lucky northern kids. Stinks to live in Florida; with the crummy postal service around here, I probably won't hear until mid-next week if they send them out Friday.
