Vassar Alumni Interview for Regular Decision Applicants, Class of 2017

Hi!

I am wondering if anyone applying RD to the Class of 2017 has received a response to their Alumni Interview request yet. Does anybody know when responses are usually received?

Assuming you requested an interview when you filed your application, you should be hearing back about scheduling an interview very soon. My daughter recently had her interview for Vassar. The interviews apparently have to be completed by approximately the third week of February. If you don’t hear from someone about scheduling an interview within, say, the next 10 days, I would contact the admissions office. Where are you located? If you are in or close to a major US city, it should not be difficult to schedule an interview for Vassar.

I did request an interview back in October. I emailed the admissions office yesterday, and they replied saying that they sent my request in a group to my area on January 11. So, hopefully I will hear soon. I am located in the general area of Pittsburgh.

Thanks!

It sounds as though the Pittsburgh group is being slow about scheduling interviews. I would suggest contacting the admissions office again in a week if you still have not heard. Good luck.

My D. had her alumni interview today. We are in NJ. She heard back from the alumnus in Dec, but the interview was scheduled in Jan cos he wanted to give priority to the ED candidates. (rightly so).
He did tell her that the interview carries minimal if any weightage in teh vassar admission process.

I’m not sure if this will be helpful but my son, who applied regular decision and is currently attending, had an alumni interview which he did not feel went all that well, was told by his interviewer that he was the first person he had interviewed in many years (15 different candidates) who had been accepted. I think if the candidate is a strong applicant, it does not really matter.
