<p>You know what’s oddly comforting about this all? That when I’m rejected, I know that it’s because they had to accept all these students that have done fantastic things! (Or at least I hope that’s what they’ll do)</p>
<p>One of the worst feelings is losing out to someone who you know is less deserving than you. If you put in all the effort, you hope to reap the reward, but if there are people who have put in even more effort, then there shouldn’t be many harsh feelings, know what I mean?</p>
<p>Just think about how many schools there are throughout the entire world - not just within your state, not just within the US - but in all other countries (for example I’m applying from an international school outside the US). Then think about how many students there are. Then think about how many top students there are in every single school. When it comes down to pure probability and statistics, chances really aren’t very high.</p>
<p>If this post is coming across highly negative, I’m sorry, it was meant to be reassurance that even if we don’t get it, it won’t be the end of the world. </p>

<p>@ultimaterealist hahah my bad man. lololol but yea no probs. @suchexcite i understand your points but as of this moment, i think once i recieve my probable rejection, im probs just gonna be mad at myself. thats what usually happens in cases like this with me…i know that judging oneself is harsh because there are so FEW spots and there are so many great applicants, but i think in the end, i know deep down that i need to buckle up, put on some boots, and go to work… in the end, stanford is ONE school. its the BEST school, i know but its one of many on my list and with a rejection, i feel that it would be pointless to waste the time on sorrow and sadness (it will probs grab hold of me for a day or two) but i should use the time as my finals would have already ended, be happy that the semester is over and that all grades/class rank for the other schools are final and starting working on those ever-so-important supplements…i won’t know any better…</p>
<p>its just what im preparing for…not the sadness of rejection, but the rebuttal of rejection. the reality PAST the rejection is what i have been preparing for…</p>
<p>@suchexcite yeah I have to keep slapping myself to remind me that it’s not the college that makes the person. It’s ME. It’s my drive, it’s my intuitive to be the best I can be and fulfill the goals I have set for myself with or without Stanford :)</p>

<p>Any other current/former homeschool students applying? I’m wondering how unique that will make me look - plus unweighted 4.0 (on 4.0 scale) and 11 AP tests, all 5s and three college math courses (As so far).

<p>Some of my friends are receiving their Brown admissions decisions on Thursday evening. This Friday is gonna be INTENSE.</p>
<p>This whole ordeal feels very Hunger Games-ish to me, especially considering the single-digit chance of victory in both cases</p>
