<p>Philosophy is dope. I’m taking a class on it right now and it’s blowing my mind. I don’t know about philosophy as a major though… it doesn’t seem to have that many career choices.</p>
<p>I’m pretty much set on an economics major, maybe political science too if I can double or joint major.</p>

<p>@deepdishpizza, insane anxiety is possibly an understatement. I just don’t know how to feel about the whole admissions process. 3 days. So soon. I can’t wait for them to announce the final date on their website!</p>

<p>Well, on the topic of subject, I think Sal Khan (founder of KhanAcademy) said it best in his book when he explained that there isn’t really such a thing, because everything overlaps. It’s just an arbitrary designation by whoever is doing the teaching.</p>

<p>@ elizabh A true intellectual! It’s nice of you to have an intense interest, but I would recommend a second major or at least a minor in something else. Otherwise Philosophy kinda rests on a rarefied, sanitized version of the real world and isn’t that useful unless you integrate it into something else. </p>
<p>I know a guy who didn’t, and guess what, he got schizophrenia…So be careful.</p>

yea im a big metaphysical guy too but nah havent read kant yet, def heard of him tho!!
and yea i agree with keepyourshirton on the idea of having a useful major along with philosophy or just take a bunch of philosophy classes instead of a major.</p>
<p>if by some miracle, i get into stanford, humbio is my dream (premedness) and philosophy is def the secondary stuff but its still awesome.</p>
