Possibly majoring in psychology (stereotypical useless majors, yeaaaaaah). I considered physics, but as much as I love my physics class right now, I’d never be able to have a lifetime of it. Stanford’s amazing psych program tempts me so much.

I’m consoling myself with the fact that I’m applying elsewhere and considering other schools whether I get rejected or accepted. Several other schools on my list interest the part of me that wants to go into animation, but I’ve always been afraid that if I plunge myself into any kind of professional art, art will become more of a burden than a hobby that I enjoy.

Soooo Stanford attracts the other half of me that loves analyzing human behavior.

yea thats not a lot of people for the entirity of china!! lets hope you are one of those this year! out of all NC they had like 12 people go to Stanford…which scares me kinda

I hope I share your confidence. I keep running the scenario in my mind that the AO had spoiled pizza and felt nauseated as she looked at my application, and rejected me outright so she can go throw up.

hmm I wonder if for internationals if Stanford makes an admission’s officer who’s from that region read the application? I know they do that for Princeton and Duke

Keepyourshirton: Don’t worry, at least you’re not my friend who accidentally insulted the admissions officer of the reach school he’s applying to, because he mentioned in an essay that he didn’t like how the school was presented to seniors and only realized after that the lady who did the presentation was the AO.

If you look at that hypothetical situation in a different way, the AO felt so sick that she didn’t want to think about your application anymore and decided to just accept you so she could run to the bathroom.

I wouldn’t think so… My freshman year teacher was a Stanford alum, there’s going to be a chance someone who knows the applicant ends up with the application

anyone else having a hard time trying to complete your other aps? I’ve been on Christmas break since last week thurs and haven’t even opened common app #makingmoves #justacceptmestanfordsoIdonthavetobother

Could be they made changes last year and put someone who likes Chinese in charge (evident in the rise of acceptance numbers last year), but I doubt the guy spent time in China, otherwise he/ she would be more prone to the local educational hierarchy and make decisions arbitrarily in favor of a handful of elite high schools.

@09755149lan But I don’t think that will have an effect on admissions, personally. For example at Boys State, one kid that interviewed was one of the interviewer’s neighbors and closest friends, and he didn’t get accepted. I don’t think it helped him or hurt him. I know they’re two completely different things, but still…
