REA Class of 2018 Applicants' Discussion Thread

@howaboutno HOW CAN YOU VIEW THAT! Are you serious? Decisions come out in less than 75 hours and they are still viewing applications?

@elizabh
I forgot to add that if you want inspiration, read Toni Morrison’s “Memory, Creation, and Writing.” She explains the importance of memories in depicting the reality of slavery. Worth the read! :slight_smile:

I made a little count down thingy! :slight_smile: I think that you guys should set it as your browser’s new home! ha.
<a href=“Countdown Timer – Time since Dec 13, 2013 3:00 pm started in San Francisco”>Countdown Timer – Time since Dec 13, 2013 3:00 pm started in San Francisco;

Hello everyone
When is the decision data, because I though it was December 15th, but you are all saying its Friday December 13th.

December 13th 3:00PM

So then why does it say that the notification date is on the 15th?

@Sushicat thank you!! That sounds really interesting, I’ll read it. I’m reading a book by Salman Rushdie right now and I love it… he is such a cool person! His memoir is really fascinating too.

Ok i notice that some of you are newcomers to this thread and till have questions about when the date is for release of decisions…the date and time HAS been confirmed by director of admissions… its December 13th 3pm PST…

@hindupowers only if STANFORD RECRUITED CRICKET!!! im sure they have a club cricket team…if they ill probs try out for it IF i get in and go to stanford… most of the really high end univs with high asian populations have great crciekt club teams (UNC, harvard, penn, stanford, etc)

Haha etshine! I have a feeling I’m going to just stare at the countdown as the hours to go reduce

@elizabh
You’re welcome! :slight_smile:
OMG!! I saw Salman Rushdie two summers ago at an Italian restaurant in New York!

@SushiCat OH MY GOSH that’s so awesome… did you talk to him??

About 52 hours more

Before we all know it, friday will come (and go for all who don’t make it :frowning: ) i don’t know about yall but in a way im not looking forward to it haha…its the “ultimate ultimatum” as I like to say…

If Stanford doesn’t work out I’ll just apply Early Decision II to Hamburger University.

Also, since there’s already a decent amount of garbage on the results thread, would it be possible to get that thread removed and start a new one? That would also let us change the name of the thread to something more proper, since the “SCEA” acronym is outdated.

Something like “OFFICIAL Stanford Class of 2018 Restrictive Early Action Decisions Thread”?

Some friends said Stanford Admission team has many non-Stanford graduates. Some of are even new comers, like joining 3-4 months ago. Is this good or bad?

@phantomboy

to be honest, it might make a slight difference but i bet those newcomers are part time readers or people that supplement the individual people responsible for their areas…even with that I think it would be hard pressed to cause a problem to our apps

@orbdas making a new thread might make some people confused and write in other one instead of the new one though

My suggestions: ask the person who posted first in that thread to edit their post to include the note. If they say no, ask the second person and so on. Worst comes to worst it ends up being the 10th post in the thread or so, no big deal.

You can’t edit your post after a certain time period, I believe, and that has already passed.
