I know it was a few pages back, but when everyone was saying they fear telling people they get rejected - that’s why I’ve told very few people. Unfortunately I have a strong conscience and don’t like to lie about where I’m applying, so a few more people know than I’d like.

A girl in my grade just got into Dartmouth. She’s setting the bar…

Everyone fretting about McDonalds on/near campus: Have you ever experienced In N Out Burger? I’d take that over McDonalds any day!

When your school counselor does her report, does she include your school’s grading system? I feel behind on my GPA (3.8) but I also feel like my school set me up for failure in a way. In my school, anything below a 95.50% is counted as a 3.7 on your GPA. In order to have a 4.0 you have to make less than 4.5% error. I understand that its demanding excellence but it still feels excessive to me when I know other schools give a 4.0 to any grade above a 90%. On top of that, we just started weighting GPAs this year and the system still has a lot of bugs. I am getting 0.2 weight added to my college and AP classes but not my PLTW courses. So even if I get an A- (92.5%-95.49%) in an AP class, it is still only counted as a 3.9 on my GPA which I feel is unfair.

Does anyone know if this information is included or can anyone relate to my situation?

@Brogrammer17 You could request her to include that information. I’m pretty sure there’s a field for it.

@brogrammer17:

Yes, that sort of concern is exactly what school reports are for.

Also, the function of the admissions counselors splitting up the country is that they get intimately aware with their assigned geographic area, so they may know about your situation already.

Where will you guys be tomorrow at 3PM Pacific Time? Are you doing anything special for the big “Open E-Mail” moment?

Hmmmmmm for Chinese it is 7 in the morning… I think I’m having trouble sleeping tmr night…

Unfortunately, I will be in the middle of a wrestling tournament.

@swimgal
I’ll be heading home from my calc two final… I’ll get home and Probs jog around for a bit then come home take a shower lock my bedroom door and have this thread and email opened up in two tabs all while listening to my pregame track on my bed… If I get in I’ll go crazy. If I don’t I’ll spend time depressed while listening to my rejection track. U?

I have a rec soccer game at 6 (when the decision comes in my time zone) so I don’t know if I should open it before or after…

Elizabh
I would do after. Don’t want the emotions of a rejection or acceptance messing up ur game. And the adrenaline afterwards should help with ur finding out…

I got this idea from someone on this thread: It will be 4:30 am here so Ill be going to the beach with my friend and I’ll open it on my phone with him recording my reaction. So regardless of whether or not I get in, Ill flip and scream

That’s a good point… I would either be super super excited or depressed haha. I should probably wait. I doubt it would even come right at 6 exactly.

Yeah @elizabh definitely wait until after! You can use the anticipation and nervous energy to fuel your game. At least that’s what I would do haha

I’m supposed to be doing a piano lesson with a 5 year old at that time… I rescheduled it for earlier so Ill be home in time for the email.

Anyone else completely unable to sleep/eat/focus? I’m seriously freaking out.

I’ll be at home, but my parents will have guests over, so I’d prefer to open it somewhere outside my house in case it’s a rejection because then I’d probably start crying in front of them…

And yes, @deepdishpizza, I am the same way!

My brother is flying home from his semester in Beijing tomorrow. His flight gets in about an hour before 3:00 PST, so I guess he’ll be here with me when I find out. Hope I can make him proud.

@BalisongAddict What state are you from and what weight do you wrestle? I don’t have a tournament tomorrow but I’ll be in practice for probably half an hour after the decision arrives on my phone. I’m thinking I might just shut my phone off before practice and check on my laptop when I get home instead. It’s so nerve racking!

I’ll be in a room full of sax players auditioning for region symphonic band. No way I’m opening it during the audition, I’ll either start crying or start screaming in front of the other players, and the audition room is supposed to be totally silent

It’ll be midnight for me. I know I’ll be watching a talk show while the clock hits midnight, so I guess I’ll just check, and try and continue watching the show.

I’d much rather find out at 3pm in the afternoon. I feel like you can get it off your mind a bit before sleeping.
