In Dykstra, is each floor exclusively for one sex or are they co-ed? My roommate's mom has a problem with males being on the same floor...

No building at UCLA has same sex floors.

yah your roomie's mom is just gonna have to get over it.
if it makes her feel any better, you need a room key to get in the bathrooms (only girls can get into the girl's bathroom).

^ Not true. (At Dysktra, at least) The key opens both restrooms.

oh. i guess don't tell that to the mom... lol!

is it true they remove locks on places because they have sex in them?

Locks in what places?

like in laundry rooms and what not

There's locks on laundry rooms, you swipe to get in.

Not for Hedrick Hall, they're all open and have no locks. No one's gonna have sex in them.

yeah i was talking about hedrick
my friend was telling me how she walk on a couple one time

is there any way to waive the 400 dollar deposit?

i don't think you can waive the deposit fee... if you have a special circimstance in which you can't pay, you may need to talk to the housing office... they might be able to work something out for you but, in any case, i've never heard of anyone waiving the deposit...

In the residential halls, are the community bathrooms on each floor a problem, where you have to wait a significant amount of time to do anything?(shower, brush your teeth, etc.)

^No, there's like 6 toilets, 6 sinks, etc.

Vendetta,

The community bathrooms are not a problem at all. Like MrSpam said, there's usually many shower and toilet stalls and not everyone's going to be in the restrooms at the same time. My first year I lived in Rieber hall and as far as I can remember, I never once waited for a shower, sink or toilet. Which you may think is surprising since you're sharing with probably more than 35 other people.

are there all you can eat places?

yeah
all the dining halls
lol

o joyous day.

do we need to bring desk lamps or chairs? or do they come with the room?

also how long/wide are the mattresses? cuz i want to get one of those foam mattress pad things
