** Read Before Starting New Housing Thread**

How likely is it to get housing for winter & spring quarter (assuming I was not here for fall)?
Since it’s already break, should I just assume there’s no space?

Try calling in to housing ((310) 206-7011) when they open on Jan. 5th at 8AM. I know that there are beds available, but I’m not sure where/what type etc. or what the procedure to get a 2-quarter contract is.

Yeah I know there will be people leaving housing but there will also be many people applying again. I would rather them tell me early on if there are no rooms available. I sure as hell am not going to accept an offer after the quarter starts.

Which residence halls have mostly second years? If I transfer next fall, I would like to room with someone my own age. Yes, I’ll be at a junior standing once I transfer, but I’m initially part of the class of 2015.

^definitely Sproul, that’s like the only res hall with mostly second years

Cool, thanks Bauss!

I’ve heard Delta Terrace is the place to dorm if you’re transfer. Anyone know if a transfer like me would have a better “freshman-like” college experience at Delta Terrace than Sproul Hall? Are the second years in Sproul Hall all well-acquainted with the campus that they’re unlikely to explore the campus like freshmen or new transfers would and do other things freshmen and new transfers would do?

Sure thing! I feel like most of the people in Sproul know each other beforehand and choose to live there because it is cheaper than plazas/suites, it’s social and it’s in a prime location. Most of the second years in Sproul are pretty well acquainted with campus and kinda do their own thing. I have friends that are transfers that enjoy Delta Terrace and I also know some transfers in Rieber Terrace and Vista that like it there as well.

will there be bike racks for bikes at the high rise plazas?
how long does it take to walk to classes from rieber vista and rieber terrace?

^Pretty sure that there is a bike rack next to Rieber Hall for all of Rieber Court to use. Honestly, if you’re living in one of those buildings you could probably keep it in your room. From Rieber Vista/Terrace, the walk can be from under 15 minutes to about 25 minutes depending on what part of campus you need to get to.

The housing application has six drop-down menus, but only five choices. After submitting the application, they sent me an email saying that there is an error on my application, and that I cannot duplicate or leave options out. How does this work?

How do I fix this?

You have encountered an error on the page. If you have already submitted credit card information DO NOT use the back button or attempt to make additional payments. This could result in duplicate payments.

Please hit the Submit Error button below to notify the helpdesk so we can fix your problem.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

MysticzZ- The same thing happened to us. I redid it using all five options instead of four and it worked that time. Even though my son doesn’t want a Single, I put it as Option 5 and it went thru.

I have also been assigned to Hitch, a triple with shared bathroom… i will submit a CAR but just in case I’d like to hear some positive things about it? And even though I’ve read through all of the pages in this forum and looked at the floor plans and video, I still for some reason can not picture the bathroom arrangement. If I’m sharing a bathroom with another triple, does that mean we get ONE toilet and ONE shower and ONE sink for 6 people? That sounds a little ridiculous. Also, if showering become difficult with so many people, can I just go to one of the residence halls and use their communal showers? haha

Sorry for my visual retardedness, i really can’t picture the room as a whole in my head

Hey guys, I just had a quick question regarding the housing app. I got a double in sunset village, but the housing offer didn’t specify if i had a private bathroom(for 2) for a shared bathroom for 4. Does that mean that I got a private bathroom(by default)?
Thanks in advance.

Hi y’all! I got put in Sproul Hall Triple, and although I heard its supposedly really great because of its living conditions and closeness to campus, I’m worried about the social aspect. I’ll be an incoming freshmen and I heard its mostly all sophmores…But I’m really social and would like to meet tons of people. Should I CAR to somewhere like…Reiber Hall or Hedrick Hall? Please advise!!! Thank you!!!

Yes, I’m pretty sure that if it doesn’t say shared than it’s a private bathroom. Also, I’m pretty sure Sunset Village doesn’t have shared bathrooms, but I’m less sure on that.

@envisible and @ThisCouldBeHeavn: Sunset Village are all plazas, meaning they either have private or shared bathrooms. So if it’s just listed as “Double” or “Triple,” then those are private bathrooms. Shared bathrooms will be specified (e.g. “Double Shared” or “Triple Shared”).

You can further reassure yourself by matching the prices to the lists here: [2012-2013 Contract Housing Rates and Payment Plans (1005183)](http://map.ais.ucla.edu/go/1005183)

Im a guy and i was offered housing in Hedrick Summit, 3 bed plaza, very nice housing right next to the swimming pool and recreation centre, looking to trade with someone to another plaza/hall building as have stayed at Hedrick for summer courses for past 3 years, its a great place with gym, games room, and is very social, but im looking for somewhere totally new that i dont know so well, anyone pm me if interested…

I’m an incoming freshman and got offered a double in sunset village. Is sunset village a good plaza or should I consider submitting a CAR to change to one of the high rise plazas ? Because I’m particularly concerned with the social life and location. Any insight would be appreciated.

de neve plaza vs hedrick summit?
