** Read Before Starting New Housing Thread**

I think 14p is the best.

I just made the housing and meal initial payment. I chose 19P. It is $190 more than 14P. So it ends up $19 more per month but you have 20 meals more (5 more meal weekly x 4 weeks) per month. So each extra meal is about $1.

I will probably go out to each sometimes in weekends, but not often, not all meals in weekends. So 19P is good! :]

I dont remember if I read it here but does choosing Single Room over Single Room, Shared Bath on the housing bath imply you want communal bathrooms?

I’m a transfer student and i don’t know about pricing in the US.
so my question is about which is finally cheaper!

comparing a residence hall 950/month (with 11meals) and university apartmentes for 525/month. which is cheaper? i don’t know if in university apartments you have to pay for utilities, if yes, it will be finally cheaper than a residence hall?

ahahaha im too confused and i have to apply for housing this week, please help me!!

i mean exchange student ahahah

go on facebook “UCLA Housing”, they respond fast.
or go UCLA ask housing, [Find Answers (Page 1 of 58)](<a href=“Find Answers”>Find Answers)
they also respond quickly.

when you submit a CAR, is it on a first come first serve basis? Like, do students who submitted one in May get a higher priority over someone who submitted it in July? Also, do I have to wait until August to find out if my CAR was accepted or not?

I think it is. Students who submitted CAR earlier already got their changes if the requests were available. You will know if the CAR is accepted on 7/26 accourding to the housing email.

So I really want to sleep on the loft bed, but I’m concerned about closet space. Whoever chooses the loft bed only gets to use the closet underneath it? It seems like the other roommates will get so much more closet space…

will UCLA Housing Service assign who sleeps where in a room?

@mus1cl0va, I’m going to be a freshman this fall too, but to my understanding you don’t have to get the closet under the loft if you sleep on the loft, thats just what most people do i think, cause of convenience. And ya, the other roomates will get more closet space,

@Iamapplying, i doubt the housing service has the time to assign who to sleep where. Personal preferences take over when deciding where to sleep.

No, and you can move the furniture around too.

^ is there even much space to move furniture around? Especially in a triple?

I think the roommates have an agreement between each other to switch beds every quarter in order to avoid quarrels. xD

put ultimately its up to the roommates, Like my friends and I are going to be roommates and we’ve already decided… Its kind of a hassle to change every quarter in my opinion.

What is the size of a triple in De Neve.

^A bit bigger than the halls, from what I hear. No triple can be considered “roomy,” however. :P

does anyone know how deep the drawers under the bunk beds are?

I’m a freshmen next year and I got Saxon Suite. Can anyone give any insights as to what I should expect. thanks

Expect a reasonably-sized bedroom, awesome living room, and minimal interaction with your neighbors, who are very likely athletes. The buildings are older than the plazas, but not bad. And there’s a basketball court there.
