Most likely yes, but when you say room choice, do you mean Double/Triple or Hall/Suites/Plaza?

I have Triple Room Plaza as my first choice room type. So... I should still fill out roommates even though I'd rather have the room type?

hey i am wondering about the social situation.

i know the dorms are way more social and fun
but are the plazas super super boring? like antisocial?
do they still have organized events and stuff?

because i definitely wanna make friends and have fun in the residence halls.

oh, and hellogoodfriend. rocket summer! i love it!

Yay for the rocker summer! :)

As for social situation, I've heard it's just what you make of it, I don't think it'll be like social suicide.

For the past two years, I've had 19 Gold.
Typically, I have about 3-4 swipes left.
Question: 14 premiere/19 premiere?

3-4 swipes left with 19....so you should be able to use all 14 without issue.

unless you want the ability to multi-swipe, i'd say decide between 14 blue and 19 premier.

so do you want to be hungry without swipes (14 blue) or have extra swipes and be able to get smoothie/ice cream/more food (19p)? :p

I wish there were an 11P. That would be perfect.

Thanks VTECaddict.
19 premier sounds good then.
I'll donate leftover swipes to my church and my boyfriend.

will choosing your roommate(s) lower your chance of getting your desired room type?

I'm planning on choosing a friend as a roommate and the other one random.

PICK - The housing selection process is extremely random in terms of desired room type. Choosing a roommate would, IMO, not affect your room type.

agreed.
they'll put you in your requested room before they put you with your roomie.

this is why they advise you AND your roomie to put the EXACT SAME room type preference, or the computer won't put you two together.

I'm not sure; there would probably be a reason why you are told to rank the chioces of "roomate" and "room choice" in order of preference.

quick question. if i wanted to dorm with my friend in a res hall (double or triple), and NOT a plaza, should my list go

double room (two occupants)
triple room (three occupants)
double room, shared bath
triple room, shared bath
single
single

or

double room, shared bath
triple room, shared bath
double room (two occupants)
triple room (three occupants)
single
single

1st one. Chances of getting a double are very low though

Hi, i'm really confused by this whole housing thing. I've read the comments, but there's a zillion.

Does anyone know how much resedential hall and plaza dorms cost?
Also, what is the bestttt building in your opinion at resedential hall?

costs:
2008-2009 On-Campus Housing Rates

as for specific buildings, it's a moot point. you don't pick your building, you just say that you want a hall (or a plaza, or a suite) and then get what you get.

in august, you'll find out where you are, and THEN you can compare. but a basic rundown: dykstra is the closest hall, attached to de neve plaza. also known as the "ghetto" but some people love it there, so it's subjective. sproul will be newly renovated next year, and has a very central location. hedrick is the furthest hall up the hill. rieber = closed.

Ok, so my roommate and I want a shared plaza triple in one of the high rise plazas. We put roommate choice as highest priority, and was wondering the likeliness of getting our top choice

How likely would it be if we were to be put instead in a triple hall or a triple private? if we have these preferences:

Plaza

Hall

Suite

Triple Shared

Triple- 3 occupants

Double Shared

Double- 2 occupants
5/6. Single

Because I REAAALLYY DO NOT want to get a private bath, of any variety. Would they put us in a hall before they would put us in a private bath, or other way around?

is there any way i can change my housing application...if so how do i do it...i know at the college welcome day they said u can do it but i dont know how

Click on Application Update. You won't see the changes to your application immediately so don't worry if you check it right after and it doesn't look any different. It takes 1 business day to show the changes.

i have tried that then logged in and then went to single graduate housing but then it says "secuirty.ha.ucla.edu You are either ineligble for housing, already filled out an application or the timeframe has passed...please call for help....bla bla"
