I don't read non-school assigned books much anymore. Aside from the time restraints, getting to the library takes up so much effort (yeah, i'm lazy :))

What? You dont read for fun?
Get out of this thread.
Your kind arent welcome here.

I LOVE to read, I just haven't in a while. I've read the Great Gatsby 3 times, even though it's assigned for school because I love to read so much

Gideon's Spies: The Secret History of Mossad
The Wealth of Nations
Tuesdays With Morrie

On the Road by Jack Kerouac
The Portable Beat Reader

On a different note, the Jungle is one of the worst books I've ever read. As much as I love to read Upton Sinclair rant about socialism for 50 pages...

The Bell Jar

Sylvia Plath

bump bump.........

Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats :D

Angelina's Ashes by Frank Mccourt......wonderful piece of literature.

Thats Angela's Ashes...and yeah it is a great book. I f you liked it, then I would definitely recommend A Tree grows in Brooklyn :)

oops my bad...actually was in the middle of a stupid office job when I typed that, my boss was hollering into my ears... Advice accepted...Thnk you offered!

To kill a mocking bird by Harper Lee

It's an excellent book. pulitzer winner.

Right now I'm in the middle of Arrow of the Blue-Skinned God by Jonah Blank. It's a retelling of the Sanskrit epic Ramayana. I'm really enjoying it.

To kill a mocking bird by Harper Lee

Awe man I had loved that book!

does anyone else find it ironic that high school work is actually IMPEDING our reading. What's more, the education we get from these books is probably better than that we receive from some of our high schools!

I thought that at age 13 you were issued by the government a copy of TKMB! Maybe that's just a southern thing... Everyone I know from several states read it in 8th grade. It was one of my favs!

I have to read Heart of Darkness (think I'll just watch Apocalyse Now, since my senior thesis is about apocalyptic litereture ;) ). I just finished The Da Vinci Code for fun, v. awesome. I loved Angels and Demons too

Mr S, my mom told me that I should read outside of class, I practically have a required list from her of books that educated people to read.

yeah, I LOOOOOVEEE to read. But what i'm saying is that it seems kind of ironic that school work (which is often very useless!) hurts my ability to read as much as I like.

bump bump...

The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant is an interesting book...
Another book I'd recommend strongly is Brighter than a Thousand Suns. Its wonderful even if science isnt really your thing

Currently reading- Forward the Foundation by Isaac Asimov

Please help me develop some taste for Asimov. All the books (precisely 2) of this writer have proved to be a horrible experience. And I have been suggested to read his works by hundreds of my frends!
