Hi there all, what are the transfer requirements for local transfer students under the current state of things? I know for CSUs they state a min 2.0, but higher GPA requirements will be taken into account for impacted programs. So for impacted schools, say like Cal State Fullerton, what would you guys say realistically, the min. GPA requirements for local transfers are in our current state? 2.5...3.0? Just looking for a ballpark estimation.

It depends on the major.

It appears that only SJSU publishes the impaction GPA thresholds. Here are the GPA thresholds for transfer students who applied to SJSU for fall 2012:

Of course, each campus is different.

Admission Status: Accepted (2.87 gpa at time of application). 3.0 after Fall 2012.

Thank you and goodnight.

Congratulations @HuskyRobusto!

Did you get accepted into CSU Fullerton with that GPA?

THanks!

Yes. 2.87 local transfer.

Wow nice. I wonder how much more competitive it is to non local transfers. I’m at a 3.0 right now and will apply for fall of 2014. Hoping my GPA will be good enough.

@astran

It’s not that competitive as long as you either have most of your pre-req’s done or get an AS-T/AA-T. I only have a 3.05GPA and I got into most of my choices, which were all impacted for EE, so far (I would probably be considered an uber-non local transfer for SJSU and I got admitted within the first batch).

I’m just waiting on pomona and SD now.

That’s good to hear. Keep me updated with Pomona. That’s one of my choices.
