Realistically, What are My Chances at UF? (Weird Situation)

Ok, so here’s the deal:
I am 16 but got the chance to bump up a grade due to sufficient credits. I am doing this through FLVS. ( I am a senior now)
I have always wanted to get into UF but unfortunately with Freshman and Sophomore year came unforeseen family issues and circumstances that harmed my ability to work at my full potential. However, that is no excuse.

I don’t have the highest UW GPA (3.4) however, my UF GPA is about a 4.08 due to the fact that the only regular class I have ever taken is Algebra 2.

I have taken 2 5’s on my AP Tests (AP European and AP Spanish) as well as 2 3’s (World History and Government)
The rest of my classes are AICE as my school is part of the Cambridge system.

My SAT is 1550 and My ACT is 34.

I have done extensive extra curricular work: Consistent community service (150 hours at the same place), Dance Class as Team Captain for 3 years, Acting class as student coordinator for 3 years, as well as taught English at summer camps in Spain. I have also traveled to third world countries and helped build schools and homes for those in need. I am a youth leader at my church, spend about 10 hours a week there, and have been going for 3 years.

Realistically, what are my chances of getting admitted? (I am confident in my essay writing skills but my GPA is eh.)

I am also an In-State student!!!

You’re GPA is pretty bad, not gonna sugar coat it. Below the 25%. Your SAT is excellent, though. (Better than the ACT so submit that one instead imo).

I think without the Family circumstances you have a decent shot at admission; I can imagine it would be hard to turn down a 1500+ kid, even for a subpar GPA. But I know UF does place a big emphasis on GPA. Are your family circumstances “tough” enough to justify the low GPA?

Focus on delivering an excellent essay that discusses the uniqueness of your education and your EC experiences. It sounds like skipping a grade may not have been the best move, since your GPA may have suffered for it. Have you done FLVS your entire high school career, or have you switched schools and programs? If you switched programs a lot, that may also help explain your GPA.

I’m not at all familiar with AICE, but aren’t these courses considered on par with AP and IB courses in terms of weighting for your GPA?

Yes, AICE courses are indeed considered in the same terms as AP/IB

Your ECs are impressive as well as your ACT score, if you can work in an essay that show up your family troubles and personal challenges that will help to admissions officers to understand your determination.
Good luck.
