Really? No microwaves allowed in dorm rooms?

I saw something on the housing website that said that microwaves were not allowed in dorm rooms. Is that enforced? Do floors have kitchens? Thanks.

No one cares–just carry it inside under a blanket or something, put it in the closet for breaks, and don’t light your mac’n’cheese on fire (protip: add water. Yes, that’s a legitimate problem). Don’t bother with the dorm kitchen unless you want to bake something. Even then, look into mug brownies.

I know a couple kids who had them anyway, the rule isn’t totally enforced. Just don’t make a big deal out of it. Individual floors don’t tend to have kitchens but my building had a crappy one in the basement. No one really used it though; why would you when there’s food in the dining halls/in town? Besides, you won’t want to waste your time cooking, there’s too much studying/activities going on!

My kids dorms have a kitchen on every floor - with microwave included.

Some dorms have kitchens some don’t (some have them in the basement)
