Reason #390282 public schools are "fun"...

alright sounds good to me.

You ever feel like resurrecting a random thread? I do. Public Schools are fun! WOO HOO

I'm proud of the OP for not doing anything. Some people suck but its good that you are trying to ignore it

(haha this thread is funny)

I don't like private school kids. Alot of them are snobs and spoiled brats.

Besides I'm not rich like most of you on here.

The public school I go to hasn't had one fight or bomb threat since I've been there...going on 4 years now. The education is better and the students are nicer.

Lucky you. I've got about 5-6 close friends here, and everyone else is more or less stuck in this "Im better than you, my way is the only way, you are going to hell" mindset that drives me insane.

Thats why I worked so hard to get out early. Not to mention that I know more than half the teachers, and not in that "Im smart Im better way".. no.. they are just flat out stupid and stuck in the 1980's.

Not all public schools are bad though, just like not all people are bad. :) You cant judge people based on where they went to school alone. One of my best friends since kindergarden goes to a private school. ;)

Right, it all depends on the area as well. From what I've experienced, I don't see why anyone would want to pay money to go to the private school near me, when it is not nearly as good as my public school.

There are some snobby, rude people at private schools and there are some snobby, rude people at public schools. There are gang members at private schools [at least at the one I'm at] and there are gang members at public schools

hehe, I think we have a "gang" at our school...... "gang" meaning the people who are about to drop out and gather around and spary paint the names of T.V. Shows on walls.

No one should be saying private schools are better than public schools or public schools are better than private schools. One costs a ton of money and one doesn't. :D

Go public!!

I would pick a public magnet over either anyday. it has the pros of both while eliminating many of the cons. They're free, amazing education, not really any "gangs" or bad influences...etc.

^I was going to say that earlier. Magnet/School of Choice/IB schools are the best option if there are any in your county.

WOOHOO public! ~o~

wow when I read the woohoo the first thing I could think of was the sims 2. I really need to get off my computer.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAH^^ lol I thought that too

I don't like public magnet schools. I think they are just public tax paid private schools, full of rich snobby kids just the same. The magnet school in our neighborhood has admissions based on tests, so it is basically for rich Asians and Whites who get private tutoring and paid help. It offers nothing different from the public schools in the area and still gets a tremendous amount of district funding. The only thing that distinguishes it is the cutthroat competition they learned at an early age.

^Not necessarily. You're saying that rich kids are smart. I am in no way rich, but I'm one of the top students in my class. I go to a School of Choice, which I guess could be considered a magnet school. All you have to do to get in is have at least a 3.0 GPA and no past record of fighting/anything bad. We don't have many asians, but I will admit that there aren't many blacks. There are about 9 in our entire school.

I go to public school and I can't wait to go to college.

I feel so out of place in public school.

The other day we had a mini lockdown because some kid flipped out and was kicking everything in sight in the hall.

One time, a kid punched a window and smashed it... just for fun.

I'd like to go to a school where everyone there actually WANTS to be there. A place where the students don't use the school as if it were a demolition derby field.
