Ok, so i originally had two teachers who were going to write me rec letters. But then one of them forgot and said i'd never asked her. she said she'd write it anyway, but i'm definately a bit nervous about that one. should i get a rec from a different teacher? most likely it would be from one in the same department as the original, do you think the original one would find out about it?

bump....................

bump..................

I don't see what the problem is. The teacher claimed you'd never asked her, but she's writing it anyway. And yes, backing out of that agreement especially after she's writing it on short notice would not go unremarked upon in the department.

yeah, its just she sounded reluctant to write it so i was a bit nervous.

I don't think it would make a difference even if it were discussed in the department. If I were you I'd ask the other teacher if you think that teacher can give you a great recommendation.
