Reccomendation says "Started". Deadline is today.

My one teacher wrote a letter of rec and he got it done and submitted it yesterday. I went in to the Common App and it just says "started" but there is a check mark. The deadline is today 11/1/13, so is it done? Did he miss something? Will it still count before the deadline?

It should be fine. A lot of people seem to have had this problem and everyone who has posted about it has been able to later confirm with the school that the item with the green check was indeed received, despite the contradictory message in the student account. Double check with your school, of course.

Yeah I talked to my teacher and he went in and found a part he missed or something, then i checked and it said submitted. Even though today is the deadline it will still be on time right?

Yes, it will most certainly still be on time if today is the deadline and it is submitted today.

Same thing happened to me, but I was waiting for the “starting” earlier Friday morning to turn into “submitted” by midnight so I could submit the Commonapp. It still said “started” late at night, but I gave the app in anyway for EA UMichigan. Will they consider my application incomplete and roll me back to RD or just wait a few minutes until my teacher’s rec gets “submitted”?

UMichigan has rolled EA to November 4th due to massive CA problems.

UMich only extended its deadline for teachers and counselors, NOT for applicants (as of this writing). Here is a pretty complete list: [List of early deadline extensions grows in the wake of Common App glitches - Washington DC College admissions | Examiner.com](http://www.examiner.com/article/list-of-early-deadline-extensions-grows-the-wake-of-common-app-glitches)

I stand corrected, emptynester.

The email I saw from Todd Spencer at Michigan is only for Counselors and Teachers submissions.

What a mess!
