Here's the situation. I'm a Fall 2009 transfer student who applied to UCLA last November. During the Winter Semester, I received a C in one of my classes, which happens to be one of my major pre-requisites. This was after Transfer Application Update for the Fall grades.

I'm a Business Economics major with a 3.71 GPA with TAP as of Fall 2008 (as far as UCLA knows based on my update). The class does not affect my alternate major (Economics), so I'm wondering if i should report the C to their admission offices? Would this likely to result in a rescission?

Yeah, it’s a pain but what happened, happened. The only thing is, if I were to get admitted to the Bus Econ major, and I then send in my transcripts, would that be grounds to rescind my admission?

The other thing too is, I could notify them about the C, which may disqualify me for the Bus Econ major but might not affect my 2nd choice major. Any opinions?

Yeah. I’ve only received about 3 or 4 Bs for some GE classes during my stay at a CC, and they were at the beginning. Other than this past winter, I’ve had a pretty good grade trend (consistent 4.0s for my last couple of semesters).

The C from your winter session doesn’t affect their decisions RIGHT NOW. Which means, even if you email them about your C, if they planned to accept you before the email, they would accept you after the email.

However, let’s say you get in, and you send in your official transcript. They might change their decision and revoke your acceptance. HOWEVER, that is very UNLIKELY because it’s a C… not a D. So don’t worry :)
