Received a letter regarding Regent's Scholarship.

uhm, is regents available to out of staters too??

yup, i didn't get the mail the last two days xD.

To those who got the letter, are you freshman or transfer students?

Freshman 2012 student here.

didn't get it today either :/ is all hope lost for a regents scholarship from ucla?

Your school may have been notified, so you might ask them about it. I would suggest just waiting a few more days; the site says that they are sent out the first week of February, so you just might get it.

And even if you don't get Regents at UCLA, don't worry -- there are still plenty of other excellent scholarships, like the Alumni Scholarship.

My son got one of these too. It was good to see, because he applied by Exam, since he did not have the A-H requirements (we homeschools). We were not even sure he would get accepted.

OTOH, he isn't going to pursue it - since he is in at his top choices - Caltech and MIT. So, it gives you one less person to compete against.

Good luck to everyone! It sounds like a great scholarship - the money is nice, but you get housing and parking privileges, which might be even better!

I got mine today, so I wouldn't be too surprised if some of you guys got some in the mail later.

I'm really excited. I mean, UCLA's not my for sure favorite, but I love it.

congrats everyone who received it and good luck! :)

I got mine the other day! I was pretty excited.

I hate how the first words they tell you is "CONGRATULATIONS!"

but don't have any insight on your acceptance/rejection :[

azngamer54 - you are in. I think they probably do not say 'acceptance' because they may still be checking out your facts and awaiting SAT scores, etc. If you filled out your app correctly, there is nothing to worry about. By getting that letter, it says they consider you in the top 1.5% of their applicants. Good Job!

hey if i'm applying to the theatre program at UCLA and haven't even completed my application to that yet (still need to do an interview), has the school already considered my regular application and might send out notification of this anyway? and an offshoot of this is do i need to get into the theatre program to get into the school?

congrats to those who got it!!

says the letters are sent out the first week of february

http://www.fao.ucla.edu/uclascholarships/regents.html

so it seems possible that most people who are to be invited havent yet received the letter

does this mean we're already in?

i think it means a lot more than the other generic email sent out. from my year, the three people who received this invite got in but they were really strong to begin with and 2 ended up going to an ivy and the other to stanford. over half of the people who got the alumni email were rejected

Has anyone been able to access the application online? The link they gave me rendered a "The page must be viewed over a secure channel." I've tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Oh and Congratz to those that got one. That letter relieved a lot of tension about the admission process, and I can now focus on other schools.

You have to make sure you type the web address starting with "https://...etc. etc."

Right, I've done that. It still doesn't work. I thought the site would not activate until February (because letters supposedly come out in Feb) but the site still doesn't work for me. Does it for anyone?

Yeah, it works fine for me.
