bluesuiter bro, it gets a little more real when you get here. Prep school is a total joke (although fun hehe) a total JOKE. You do nothing and get paid for it... you have so much free time its ridiculous.

Don't think thats what the Academy or freshmen year will be like.

Oh and keep that attitude to yourself when you're up here.

You will get briefed on this soon but... come I-day your stripes will be non existent.

But enjoy the prep school year while it still exists :)

I am actually well aware of the "non existent" stripes, and the potential lack of money (unless you save...), but that is no reason to make it any more miserable than it has to be. Restrictions suck, and always will, but even then there are still ways to have fun.

absolutely.

I am one of those people who often just stays on base, I spend too much time on homework, but oh well

When you can get out (provided you have passes, transportation, and money), it's a GREAT place. Sure, those 3-day weekend mini-vacations are great. Also true about Lackland not being the greatest place for mini-vacations, (a few good ones, but not like here).

Most of the people around here who have a lot of free time are either REALLY smart/fast workers or make time via prioritizing what needs to be done and what can be skipped (I fall into the latter...). My roommate, on the other hand works constantly to keep up with all his work (like getting up at 5AM on a Saturday to do homework). Most people have very full schedules, but "make" free time. Prioritization and/or time management skills are very important.
