Receiving "start with yes" messages weeks after paying deposit

Any reason to be concerned that Marshall School of Business is sending many emails and snail mail packages urging admitted to student to "start with yes" weeks after paying enrollment deposit? DS has moved thru obtaining netID process but not yet registered for orientation.

Concerned - about what? I doubt USC is daily merge/purging their accepted list against student who have paid the deposit. It’s not reasonable to expect that they would do so at all. Suggest chilling out and no there is no reason to be concerned.

I’ve been getting several emails from Dornsife encouraging me to commit, even though USC Connect says they received my SIR. As long as it’s on the website, you should be okay. :)

I’m on the same boat. I was advised to fax a credit card statement proving that I already paid my deposit to the USC Cashier. You should contact the USC Office of Admissions and clarify. I’ve paid my deposit in the beginning of April but they’ve yet to receive anything…

TrojanNS: who advised you to prove you made deposit? The admissions office? My son got netID access info electronically and orientation mailing. Did you get that far? He also got a call from a religious group on campus, saying they heard he was attending. But I will check credit card statement and call admissions. I will call business school too

Correction. I was wrong. Religious group that called last week did not know he had registered

The Office of Admissions advised me to do so. I’ve gotten my NetID as well. I have yet to receive the orientation email yet though… I do get funny emails as well from Marshall and the Office of Admissions as well. I really hope this won’t snowball and affect other things!

cookie16, your son has received his NetID and orientation information. There is no need for you to call admissions or prove you have made your deposit…

Thank you all for being so responsive. This really is a helpful forum. And my son is so proud and excited to be joining the Trojan family that he would move in to the dorm today if he could!
