Recently got my AA, with my grades what kind of UCs and Cal States could I realistically apply to?

Supposing I write a killer essay, what are some of the better universities I could expect to be accepted to?

AA in liberal arts (my counselor said this was the most flexible major that I could change later, basically my general ed reqs)

I’m not someone who planned on going to college so any advice would be appreciated. If doing more semesters at CC to improve my GPA and my chances is something I should do please let me know,

What do you want to major in? Geographic preference? How much can you afford?

If you’re looking at UC’s and CSU’s just look up the average accepted transfer student GPA to see where you stand a good chance.

What major(s) are you interested in, and have you completed the major prep courses for those major(s), as listed on http://www.assist.org ?

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major can give you an idea of how selective each UC has been for transfer applicants to various majors. http://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/ can show you past GPA thresholds for SJSU transfer admissions.

You might as well continue taking classes at your cc since you won’t be able to start at AUC until for a year from now. Look at the prerequisites for the major you are planning and if you’re missing any of them enrolled in those classes
