Recommendation Letters

My teachers who wrote my recommendation letters know about my difficult situation so I think they wrote about them. I never read those letters myself so I do not know what they wrote exactly, but I have a feeling that they both wrote about my situation. If they really did that, what concerns me is that colleges will not like it, thinking I am trying to appeal to their sympathy. What do you guys think? I did not mention anything about my situations on my essays, fyi.

Well it is supposed to be that you have no influence on your recommendation letters, and so it would not be you attempting to appeal to their sympthy. I would bet if your teachers did mention it would be along the lines of “look how hard of a worker this student is because they accomplished all this while this was happeing.” They would be commending you rather than pleading for you I would think. Also, since you did not mention it than the colleges would know it is not oyu trying to appeal to their sympathies. Also, it is probably good that you did not write about it if they did because then all of you are presenting different characteristics and sides to colleges which I would think they like. I don’t think that if your recommendors wrote about your situation is will do any harm to your application.
