<p>I looked around at the UVa site and at some of the forums on here but still can't figure it out. I am on the Common App right now and am adding my teachers who are writing my recommendations. The other schools that I am applying to online through the common app have two drop down boxes & an "add recommendation" button. But the UVa application only has one drop down box for the teachers but I have two teachers who are writing recommendations for me. So does that means I can't have my second teacher write a recommendation or that it needs to be send via mail?</p>

<p>Correct that the 2nd teacher recommendation should be snail-mailed or just have only one uploaded/sent? My daughter’s school sends recs by mail only – she just automatically gave 2 teachers a copy of the CA form and addressed envelopes for all her schools, to cover her bases.</p>
<p>We prefer everything to come in online. If that extra rec is critical (meaning it will tell us something we won’t learn elsewhere in the application), it can be sent by snail mail. </p>
<p>Most students probably only need the counselor letter and a single teacher rec. Don’t feel pressured to collect repetitive recs for us.</p>
