I am currently finishing up my Common App and getting ready to submit it, but I wanted to make sure of one thing before I did. My teachers and counselor have already submitted my recommendations and evaluations online, and I just wanted to make sure that, when I submit my Common App, they will automatically be sent to the schools as well.

Yes, they will be sent to the colleges to which you submit your Common App Online.

Ok, thanks for the quick response.

I have a question. What exactly should teachers do when submitting their letters online? What is the process? (in detail) Because I’m an international, my teachers have no idea of what must be done. Any advice?

Go onto Common App to the school forms section when you log in. Click on “invite” to send an e-mail to your teacher. This e-mail gives them a login username and password so that they can access your Common App (only the evaluation form, not the rest of it).

It’s pretty self explanatory from there. They just fill out the appropriate forms, upload your recommendation letter, and submit it onto your Common App. It gets sent when you submit your entire application.

Thank you for your help. I have an off-topic question. If I apply through regular mail, can I submit the financial aid forms in the same envelope with my application forms? Or the financial aid process requires other procedures? I’m so confused with this process that I think I’m going to give up.
Oh, and an another thing. Fee waivers can’t be signed electronically, am I right?

I think you can include your financial aid form with your application forms. However, your transcript and teacher recs should be sent from the school itself, or at the least be in a small, sealed envelope that is put inside your application envelope (in the case of applicants whose schools don’t have a formal counselor officer to send from).

I have the same query about fee waiver too. I can’t access to the NECAC and the College Board fee waiver since they require your whole application to be completed in order to access the fee waiver part of the Common App website. Anyone who has done this earlier could you please enlighten us.

The only thing that keeps me from applying online is this fee waiver ‘problem’. I read somewhere that even if the student applies online, the fee waiver request must be sent by snail mail. From this point I thought that if it is a must to send something by mail (like the fee waiver) why not include them all in the envelope and end it once for ever. I so wanted to apply online because the mail taxes for US are quite high and sending more envelopes will require so much money. But, oh well…
