The school year hasn't started yet, but I've already filled out the main Common App form (I'll later let my English teacher review my main essay), and now I'm working on the individual college portions. But the school year hasn't started yet, so I have no idea if I should list the teachers I want surveyed regarding recommendations yet. Should I wait for the school year to start to ask them to do so via the Common App? What's the procedure? Should I just list all three on the App, then go up to them and ask them if they can fill it out?

I'm really confused. But I've finished the main portion (with essay) and now I'm on the individual college sections. What to do?

Just ask them when school starts, and if they say yes, then add them after. Just skip that part for now…

Yes I would do the same thing. Ask them when the school year starts, though maybe not in the first week as they might be busy with preparing then if they say yes add them to the list.

First, you need to get the consent from the teacher(s). Then you invite them on CommonApp and assign them to each school on CommonApp. Ideally, you should have initial contact with them before Summer. Once school resume, the teacher will be very busy. If you do have their e-mail address, you may want to send them a brief message to see if you can make some arrangement before hand.
