The classes I am about to recommend were/are taken by myself or taught by professors I had/have. Unfortunately, I take mainly science classes so I cannot be helpful to those who want to know good econ, psych, English, Spanish, etc. classes to sit in.

PROFESSOR DE VEAUX WROTE THE FABULOUS AP STATISTICS BOOK WE USE IN CLASS.
Really, I’m excited to meet him and brag about it to my stats teacher xD
As a prospective bio major, thanks for giving a thumbs up to all the bio classes. I’ll be sure to check them out. Although I’m a little unsure whether I’d be able to follow the lecture or not as my knowledge of biology has gotten quite spotty

My D is thinking she wants to study art (studio and history) as well as creative writing-- any suggestions as to which classes she should attend?

Did anyone receive their itinerary for admitted students weekend yet? I submitted all of my info. on that page online for the all expenses paid trip back around the middle of March (I got an early-write), and I believe the website said that I’d recieve an e-mail with my itinerary and stuff within a week of submittion of that online form but I haven’t recieved anything yet…

anything in the math department, especially with professors garrity, adams, morgan, or devadoss. They’re all incredibly engaging, and a testament to the strength of the williams math department (something you may not expect from a liberal arts college - but the school’s SMALL summer math research program, funded by the NSF, is one of the most well-respected and prestigious of its kind).

I second the math recommendation. Despite the fact that I had no idea what I was listening to when I sat in a Adams multi-variable calculus class, I was engaged.

lalaland123: If you go to the Admissions page of the Williams website you will see a link under Announcements “For Admitted Students.” Click on that and you can find the full schedule for Previews.

@Lala where was the thing about the all expense paid trip?? I got an early write but didnt see anything about that…now that i think about it, maybe its because i live 3 hours away lol

@zambia I live in Chicago and I got a purple slip with all the details in the same folder my early-write was in. I registered for it a while back but haven’t heard anything from them (like Itinerary). I guess I’ll just e-mail them tonight, though they probably won’t be able to get to me until Monday.

If I do end up going however, I will most def. try to sit in on some Math classes, any physics class recommendations?

Starchy, D was an early write but no reimbursable expenses. We are 18 hours away as well. I’m not sure how they make those decisions. I think it’s for the ones that require the most financial aid, but I’m not sure. I sent D by herself as there is no way we could afford to send more than one person.

If anyone is interested in Russian, food or a combination of the two, Professor Darra Goldstein is teaching two classes and is one of (if not the) leading expert on Russian/Georgian food.
If you are interested in econ, I would totally recommend sitting in on ECON 120. All of the classes are really good, but how can you not love Love?!

lalaland, Physics 142 (Intro to Modern Physics) is an amazing class. I’m in it right now and the professor (Wootters) is fantastic. We’re doing Quantum Mechanics now, so in the class, you’ll probably get a bit of that material (which is really, really cool). 142 is also a major requirement, so you’ll get a decent view of the classes physics majors take at Williams.

Well if you need help with a ticket, calling the admissions office wouldn’t hurt. I think they’d be glad to help- especially if u havnt visited before
