As of now I have 10 units of classes after phase I.

Chem 1A
BioE10
BioE24
E98

My phase II is coming up in about 2.5 hours and I plan to sign up for 1 more class which would be either Math 1A or 1B. Then I'd have 14 units.

Should I also sign up for an R&C class to get that out of the way? That would put me at 18, but that sounds pretty hefty to me. I also don't know whether to pick Math 1A or 1B. I got a 5 on AB but I was thinking maybe I should take it easy 1st semester. Maybe if I took Math 1A it would be easier for me to add on the R&C class?

If you got a 5 on AB you really really don't need to take Math 1A. You can just take 1B next semester. What is hard about 1B, 1A won't help you.

ok then, I will definitely take 1B. What do you guys think about adding on an R&C course? Any suggestions for an easy one that would satisfy the 2nd half for college of engineering? How is L&S R44?

I am going on my own experience taking 1B after getting a 5 on the AB exam. This was many years ago. I found 1B very hard (I switched to P/NP and ended up with a B- in the class), but I didn't feel underprepared for it. I never took 1A, so maybe I'm wrong, maybe if I had taken 1A I would have aced 1B. But I don't think so. I hope some other people can chime in with their experiences.
