Recruited???

Ok, I'm trying to get recruited for a sport at Harvard. I filled out the prospective student thing about a week ago and have yet to hear anything from the coach. I don't know if it's because they're on summer vacation or what but I was wondering if I should send a follow-up e-mail or just wait for a little while to see what happens. I don't want to annoy the coach, but an interested or uninterested would be nice. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I'm entering my senior year.

What sport?

Softball........

Send the coach an email asking if he/she has received the form.. ask about the process.. etc..

They cannot contact you until Sept 1.

At least that's what I hear

BUT ... you can always initiate contact yourself.

Even if you initiate, I don't think they can (at least the coach) respond until that date. I contacted the football director at one school and was contacted with an application for a prospect camp with no reference to my email and received no other recognition from any other school I sent an e-mail to.

I'd say hang in there for a bit and come September, follow up.

What grade are you in waterfall? If your going to be a junior than the date is after september 1. If your going to be a senior then you could probably e-mail him. Where are you from and what type of stats/awards have you received for softball?

Coaches can begin contacting recruits on July 1st before their senior years. The bulk of recruiting, though, begins in the fall. The summer is the time to send personal emails to the coaches or call them so that you stick in their minds come September, when they're thinking about arranging official visits, etc.

As for my stats, I've been all-state and world series all-tournament team plus a lot of smaller stuff. I'm from MS by the way.

I'll definitely send the coach an e-mail. Thanks so much for the help.
