Reed Class of 2020 ED

Yay! Congrats!!!

Also, @Loonytunes , I think that’s fine. I still need to write mine lol, but I’m still pondering on what formatting I should use. I feel like the supplement gives more space for creativity, so I don’t see why there would be anything wrong with writing it like a poem.

I’m from washington, so shipping only took a day. Hope I see you all next year!

I’m in the south, can anyone give some geographic comfort as to when they’ve received a letter?

@cinnnie I’m in Texas, and expecting either Saturday or Monday. I looked up the average shipping time on Fedex.

I got in!! I’m in Northern California and got the package from FedEx today.

To anyone in the south or east coast: it’s probably going to take 3-5 days for us to receive anything.

I’m in Alabama. I checked the transit time, and if they mailed it on the 15th (which they said they would), it SHOULD reach by Friday (today).

Fed-Ex has a map showing how long it should take depending on your area

Looks like we also have our first rejection
Best of luck to the rest of you all

I’m sorry to hear that, @strgnflldfrts . Which other universities are you considering?

Sarah Lawrence and Bennington maybe

@strgnflldfrts How did you hear and what state do you live in?

@strgnflldfrts I’m sorry to hear it :frowning:
If you don’t mind though, could you share your stats with us?

I’m from Texas, and I received a letter in the mail today (Friday). I didn’t even need to open it to know what it said. If you get a letter instead of a box you’re either denied or were given a deferral.

My numbers are quite low in comparison to everyone else’s here, I knew Reed was a stretch. I was hoping my good interview and strong essays would help balance it out.
SAT: 1660
Reading: 580, Math: 500, Writing: 580
GPA: 3.8
Rank: 54/105
My first two years of high school were good, A’s and B’s. I go to an early college high school so starting my freshman year of college as a 16 year old was tough, C’s and B’s. Just finished up with my first semester of my sophomore year and got A’s and B’s.
I think I have pretty good ECs
Student Council (President, Publicity Chair, Senior Adviser), Business Professionals of America (Secretary, Vice President), NHS (Founded the Hunger and Homeless Awareness Committee), Drama Club (President), Class President (Junior and Senior year), Sales Associate at a retail store (junior-senior year)

I think I was denied because of my numbers. My application was solid for the most part. I wish they would have given me a deferral instead so they could have seen my improvement, but I guess this just wasn’t meant to be.

Hello I am applying RD and I was wondering if anyone had additional information about the Paedeia prompt. Like, is the class we are creating only supposed to last one session? I know the whole thing lasts a week, but is each class only one day?

@ColdCider As far as I know, a class wont be a week long…it’s usually some hours in a day!

I live in Texas and just got by acceptance box in the mail!

Why can’t they just send us an email…
This wait is killing me

@sailout It’s all apart of their conspiracy to test our mental stability. You can always pester them on the phone tommorow.

I’ve finished my CommonApp application for ED2 but for some reason I can’t bring myself to actually press the submit button.

Submitted my ED2 application yesterday. Being an international asking huge amounts of aid, the chance is slim but hope I get in lol.
