Should we post stats to help out next year’s applicants?
So has anyone received their acceptance within the last hour or so, or were they all released around 7:00 central time and some have only recently posted their acceptances here?
Still waiting. I’m in Hawaii. I guess no one Pacific has received anything?
My email came at 5:12 PM PST
Son got accepted ! He’s super excited !! Has anyone seen their financial aid award ?
This was honestly the best day to start Spring Break
My email came at 8:11 PM EST.
I’m in NC and haven’t received anything yet.
So no one got rejected yet? I’m assuming if we haven’t gotten any email yet we’ve been rejected…
@stressedboy Remember that those who are rejected are less likely to post their results.
Mine came at 8:02 and I live in CT.
@Proboscis That is true, but for any college decisions thread on here, there are often much more rejections. It’s a bit odd that no one has posted a rejection yet here on CC, but then again, others have mentioned that they had friends who have already received rejections.
Nonetheless it seems most people have received their decisions around 7:00 PM central time. I hope this doesn’t mean anything bad for me!!!
As a possibility, could they be releasing them alphabetically by last name??? Silly thought, but If so, I would be the last to get them, my last name is towards the end of the alphabet
My last name starts with a letter in the middle of the alphabet. It’s a silly idea, but you might be right.
Edit: I also live in the Southeast. They might be going by region.
My last name starts with a T
@Ctesiphon Mine is also toward the end of the alphabet but that seems sort of… elementary for a college? My sister suggested the same thing when I mentioned it to her though. Who knows
Accepted! (8:10pm EDT)
I’ve been wishy washy about posting my results on here but it’s been a long day (rejected Stanford, waitlisted Rice) and long week (deferred then rejected first-choice MIT, rejected Harvey Mudd, waitlisted Swarthmore), so I’m just really happy to have gotten into Reed.
Stats:
SAT: 2360 one sitting (800 CR, 790 WR, 770 M)
GPA: 3.92 unweighted in hardest possible course load
APs: not reported
Extracurriculars: large time commitment to out-of-school sport, founded and run a club at school, a few other small things
Hooks: nothing particular to Reed
Essays: Common App is well refined, 9/10 or better; Reed essay was done pretty last minute because it was a late addition on the recommendation of my counselors but it still was pretty good, maybe 7/10 at least
Recs: I’m sure they were fine if not quite good
Accepted: Reed, UChicago (my best one so far), Case Western, U of Illinois
Rejected: MIT, Caltech, Harvey Mudd, Stanford
Waitlist: Swarthmore, Rice
Still waiting: Yale, Brown, Haverford (in that order)
If I don’t get into any more, I’ll probably pick UChicago but not without visiting Reed first to be sure
Definitely not by alphabetical order, since I’m the last name “A” and haven’t gotten a letter.
@Ctesiphon you know people who’ve been rejected today?
accepted at 8:12pm EST from NJ! (last name starts with a ‘T’)
Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I’m not sure how they did it but I don’t think they sent out an email to everyone who got either accepted or rejected
It might be based on who they already mailed out stuff to because in the email it said my package was in the mail
Good luck to everyone
Just checked on their website:
