***** Reed College Class of 2019 RD *****

We might receive our decisions at 8:00 EST. Keep your appendages crossed.

Are you keeping the appendage on your nose crossed?

anyone else feeling the sting of ivy rejections? what a great day :expressionless:

Applying to the Ivies is like playing the lottery. I made it a point to only apply to schools with >20% admit rates.

I applied just for kicks

I applied with Questbridge so I was shrugging anyway. I’ll apply anywhere for free

Hmm… 8:10 PM EST…

We didn’t cross our appendages enough

Got the Reed HEAVY (2lb) fedex package…in CA…south bay to be specific

does anyone know how reed deals with ap credit transfer and community classes transfer?
Can we skip non major (major here is CS + math…the brand new major from fall 2015) related requirements like Lit or English etc thru other community classes or ap classes?
thanks!

Guess will not hear from them till tomorrow :frowning:

bear in mind that it is still only 5:25 in portland

I got accepted to Reed on Friday, and I also got a call from them. (Idk when, but I wasn’t there to take it, and I only know this from checking my voicemail after I saw people mentioning the call)

What did they call you about?

They called congratulating me, telling me to follow them on social media, to call if I had any questions.

I wonder how many previously unafflicted teens finish up the college application cycle with mental disorders. It seems to me that the whole system unwittingly induces anxiety/depression/mania into each successive generation.

Has anyone else in the PNW not received their admission decision yet??? I’m freaking out a little bit D:

@seattlegurlie‌ I can’t say for those who are in the PNW (I’m an international) but it seems like other than those ppl who receive the early writes last Friday, the rest of us are still waiting in patience - or at least trying to be.

@Proboscis I feel like I’m one of those teens right now… I’ve been rejected nearly everywhere and it’s made me depressed at some points… I knew from the beginning that some of the schools I applied to were hard to begin with… but by now I would have thought to be accepted where I really thought I had a chance at. This process has been mentally and emotionally horrible.

Still holding on to some hope though… I don’t think I’ve reached sea bottom yet.

I must admit that I’m surprised about the lack of rejections still, though. I can see how people could get FedEx mail tomorrow which would be guaranteed delivery on the 1st but I’d assume that they’re sending USPS regular mail to those they reject and it seems to be leaving a lot to chance to assume that regular US mail would arrive everywhere by the 1st if sent within the past few days.

Maybe they will email everyone tomorrow one way or the other or perhaps they will assume that postmarked by 4/1 is good enough for the rejection letters.
