@BlackMagic81 where did you get these statistics? and 3/437¿?
@bmsssss all the waitlist/admission stats are in the common data sets, which are somewhere on the Reed website. depending on how many accepted students actually enroll, the # of ppl accepted off the waitlist varies.
Yeah I found it in the common data set. They overenrolled last year so they couldn’t accept many off the waitlist
Has everybody received a decision yet? My son is still waiting.
Wait listed-- Florida. 2170 SAT, 800 US History, 750 Lit, abysmal GPA, like 3.1
Finally heard back omg! I got accepted
Congratulations! @madison808 Did you get the box or an email or both?
Accepted! I hope any of this info helps for future prospies!
Stats:
3.9 UW
4.3 W
SAT: 2000 (I don’t remember the breakdown, but I got a perfect score for critical reading, and did not very well in math)
SAT II:
780 Lit
760 Spanish w/out listening
Also, I’m a white female from California, graduating from an arts high school. I toured but didn’t interview.
I wrote my Paideia essay on the mental and physical health benefits of eco-sustainable living. Reed really does seem to accept students who are the right fit for the school, not those with highest test scores or GPA. If you want to go to an academically intense, small school, and consider yourself to be left-of-center, quirky, and passionate about the arts and/or the environment, Reed might be for you. So don’t let low scores scare you out of applying!
Has anyone gotten the FA pin email yet?
I haven’t. So I called Reed and they said to expect an email/hardcopy of the FA some time this week.
accepted!!! super late lol but congrats to everyone else who was, and just know that if you weren’t it literally means zero <3 you’re still great anyway.
here are my stats:
SAT: 1980, took it once (630 cr and math, 720 writing, i got a 12 on my essay which was literally a rant about bernie sanders)
GPA: i think my average is something like a 96.8% (weighted)
my school doesn’t rank
subject tests: 600 in lit lmao
my guidance counsellor legit did not know me because my old one got fired a week before school. i got my recs from my orchestra conductor of approx. 3 years, my history teacher of 2 years, and my trig teacher from junior year.
i wrote my paideia essay about mahler, and i compared an orchestra to a society. basically wove together social dynamics and viola (2 of my favorite things!!)
my extracurricular are pretty limited in scope but i was/am very dedicated to them. private viola study for 8 years, orchestral/operatic conducting study for 2 years, and i intern at a lighting design studio on some weekends.
i hope this helped!!!
I was accepted. My stats are surprisingly low, so keep your heads up, folks with not so good stats.
SAT: 1970
GPA: 3.43 Weighted
Subject: 630 Lit, 790 Chinese
I wrote my essay about a school club I founded that plays music with recyclables (glass bottles, tin cans, rubber band-styrofoam basses).
Yay!! I got accepted off the wait list.International applicant from India. I got a call from Reed yesterday ; still about to receive an official e-mail
I’m a transfer accepted from the wait list. I guess it probably doesn’t matter at this point what my stats are. 99% sure I’ll be going to Reed in the fall; I look forward to seeing many of you there!
@thegreatfire My friend has a son who has been waiting to hear about the transfer wait list. When did you hear?
I heard on June 30.
