Hey y’all I thought I’d start a discussion for all those who were waitlisted
Were you officially waitlisted or were you deferred after early decision?
Officially waitlisted after EA
I was waitlisted ): very day disappointing, do you know what the chances of acceptance may be? I have some pretty unique circumstances with my grades last semester (I got a serious concussion) so I can see why they would be iffy about accepting someone who failed English (I did raise that grade, though). Anyone opting to be considered for waitlist? I did but I’m not optimistic, I don’t want to deal with committing elsewhere and losing my deposit. UC Santa Barbara for me, I guess, unless Reed gets back to me soon.
I have also been wait listed. I really hope I get accepted, I really feel like Reed can present me with opportunities that I can’t get anywhere else.
Don’t expect any waitlist decisions until after National College Decision Day on May 1, when schools learn who plans to attend where.
Is it just me or does it seem like not a lot of people got waitlisted this year? Or maybe they just haven’t been active on CC, I guess. Last year the waitlist thread was poppin
Also got waitlisted, hoping for the best!
Hey guys, I wanted to let you all know that I was on the waitlist and I just got accepted. I’ve already committed to attending UC Berkeley, but I wanted to add to the discussion and hopefully ease some your anxiety since I used to have my heart set on Reed, and I know how upsetting the uncertainty of it all can be. Hang in there, guys
I am waiting to hear back from the wait list too! I’m not feeling too positive about it because I need almost full aid and I didn’t submit any supplementary materials yet. But who knows, life is weird.
I submit an essay about my concussion (explaining bad grades from last semester + everything i’ve been through), an essay on why I like Reed and why I deserve to go there, and sent pictures of the prints I’ve made at my local silkscreen studio. I’ve been very active politically, for women’s history month and planning and leading the march for our lives walkouts at my school. Would this be worth mentioning to reed? I’m not sure if they would appreciate how politically charged I am.
I got in!!!
@Choijae123 Congratulations! How did you hear back?
They emailed me but it could be different since im international applicant
Accepted off the waitlist here, too! Also on April 27 and also via e-mail, and I’m local. Does anyone know if people accepted off the waitlist get boxes too?
hi! so I was waitlisted by Reed but thought that all hope was lost and didn’t send any additional info? I know its a month late but would it be a good idea to send some now? I was just so devastated that I forgot about it.
@abbiebrs I’m sure sending it now couldn’t hurt. But you might be at a disadvantage to those who submitted stuff earlier.
I didn’t submit anything extra and got accepted off the waitlist, so it’s not imperative that you do so, but it sure wouldn’t hurt!
