Idk if you guys know my case. I'm too lazy to state it cuz i've flooded this forum and most i believe know what happened. Just wondering if I could get a refund. I never broke my provisional contract w/UCLA, and they withdrew my addmission last Friday. $100 is alot for a poor working man to lose. Should I even bother, or is it a waste of precious time?

How did they withdraw your admission if you didn't break the contract?

Contract is not binding and is just a guideline they try to stick to. The reason for the withdrawal was cuz i might get a "C" in calc2. Never stated that I need "B" or better in this course in my contract. If it did state that, i would have held off on submitting the SIR. What u guys think?

I know bits and pieces of your situation that I puzzled together from reading different threads... but it wouldnt hurt to call and ask.

So what if you get a C in your Calc 2 class, will you still be able to go to UCLA or did the door hit you on the way out?

And where will you be going in the fall?

McChowder, I thought you got an "I" in your calc class? Because if so, you failed to meet the conditions of your provisional admission since you did not pass every class this semester/quarter.

I got an "I" in Winter semester. Going to take the only exam i need to finish the class on 5/8 which is when spring students take the final. I think the majority of people in my situation would have assumed that this did not violate the contract. If it was an "I" in the spring, then that would have been a different story cuz i wouldnt have my courses completed by end of spring. Going to UCI. Already made alot of plans. Don't thinkn i'm gonna appeal even if i get a "B" in calc2.

yea, cja. It's over anyways, but if i get a "C" in calc, it's beyond over. I don't even have the option of asking 4 a "D" and retaking it in Summer.

Ahh, I see now. It's too bad UCLA won't extend your SIR submission deadline past 6/01 since you're taking the final on 6/08. That would have been a great ground for an appeal.

Thx for the support, but all i want to know is, "CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK". They jacked it from me. =..( sob, sob.

An "I" qualifies as breaking the contract.

Here we go again (i've said this so many times on other forums, lol)True, but I assume they made this rule for people getting "I"s in the spring. Basically, my point is THE REASON Y MY ADMISSION WAS WITHDRAWN WAS BECAUSE MY MAJOR REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF A 3.0 MAJOR GPA. I was never told or knew about this. THEY COUNT "I"S AS C'S UNTIL U GET A LETTER GRADE. I was never told and never knew about this prior to submitting my SIR. Anyways, I just sent them an email and hope there are exceptions to this rule. $100 is 2 months of food and beverages. :o(

Oh yea, gabe. You are getting much better w/your posts. I still sense a little bias in favor of overcriticism, but i say 300% better than before. :) You are awesome!

Yes!!!! In my withdrawal of admissions letter, they said, "the registrar's office will initiate the rfund process for any registration fees due to u." Thank god!!!
