I know this post might strike some groans for people who have to deal with people like me complaining about their C's so I appreciate it.

My first semester in sophomore year has passed and I managed to get one C and all remaining A's. I take 2 AP classes and plan on trying harder next semester. My question is -- will colleges take into account the improvement I make from bringing that C to possibly an A-? The fact that I managed to get one C has struck me hard but I feel as if this is more of a steam for me to try even harder the coming semester. Thank you.

no. they would rather have you follow up that C with another C second semester. or maybe even a D.

lol, what are you asking? of course they will notice that you improved your grade, assuming your transcript shows all your semester grades on it.

I played basketball with my math grade last year.

D, A, D, B.

I'm sure they'll notice my firm 96 this year and won't even bother questioning or thinking twice about last year.

The only thing you are messing up is your GPA.

improving your grade is always helpful

no, the C you got in the past will never go away

C = bad

just try to do better you dumb piece of

Penn2013, that was really unnecessary. OP, dont worry just show an improvement and I am sure it wont hurt you too bad!

Good luck :)

i agree with blu... colleges would rather see consistency than A's. i mean anyone can go from having a D one semester to an A the second semester, but not many kids have the balls to get two D's.
