@anth.santos: You would put 2 years of foreign language. Read the first page of this thread, some other people had the same problem as you. :)

I am pretty sure that you need to complete 3 years of foreign language with grades C- or higher in high-school in order to transfer into Haas. It states so in the assist.org, and also many of my counselors have stated that you need at least 3. I have completed 3 years of foreign language in high-school, but unfortunately failed second semester of my third year. I now have to take a foreign language course in college.

I am a transfer student.

bumping this thread I made 2 years ago because people seem to want this question answered again.

Yes, yes, thank you for bumping!

. . . Except, doesn’t goingmeta’s post, above, contradict your original post, ixr? I was super happy when I read the first page, but after seeing goingmeta’s post I’m confused again!

I was accepted to Berkeley in 2010 and I did what the admissions rep on the phone told me. Hope that puts everyone’s mind at ease lol.

If I took one foreign language course at my CCC, then that fulfills my LOTE requirement for the IGETC right? So does that mean I still have to check the box that says I took 2 years of foreign language in HS under additional info?

Exactly what I needed to hear regarding the C- grade for a foreign language in high school. Great thread.

ixr, you should be awarded a medal for making this thread. Thanks a ton.

@ LeightonMeester

Ah, got it. Thanks!

Thank you!

Thank you!!!

So glad this topic was bumped!

I am a transfer student and I took 2 years of Japanese in high school and got a D my final semester. A year later I took the community college equalivant of what I got a D in while still in highschool and passed. I also took a year of Chinese later in high school as well. How should I go about recording this information on the Berkeley app?

Thanks!

I don’t remember the grades I got in high school(don’t have my HS transcript). But I did complete IGETC and did a Spanish course at my CC…Would that work? I’m a junior transfer by the way. . .
