regarding transferrable units

Of the 70+ units in my 3 years at SCC, I found out that only 56 were UC transferrable. Will this jeopardize my chances of getting accepted to UC Davis for upper division? Now I'm really worried...I was gonna be in the class that produces the school newspaper, but should I just drop that (since it's not UC transferrable) and take a class to fill IGETC since I'm almost close to getting it done anyway?

do you have any ap classes you could use in your unit count?

have you applied for fall 2010?

Does the 56 UC transferable units include the ones you are taking in the spring?

Assuming that you have no APs you can use, and you are applying for fall 2010, and the 56 includes the classes you are taking in the spring, then…

Yes, absolutely take enough units to get past 60. I’m not sure about Davis, but i’m pretty sure i read that at Berkeley you can’t get in at all if you haven’t taken 60 units. And the IGETC helps a bunch for most majors, so completing that would excellent as well.

no I haven’t had AP classes and yes I am applying for Fall 2010. And yeah, the 56 includes classes in the Spring…I’m worried now

go sign up for another 4 credits…and make sure you update your apps!!!

what if I already did update my grades and incoming classes? can i reupdate it?

How do you know if your classes transfer or not? On the app it shows CCCT(Community College Course Transferable), but does that guarantee it?

without the minimum 60 units, u have a 0% chance at ANY of the UCs or CSUs, so I would go sign up for another 4 units for spring, doesnt matter what it is, and Im fairly certain u can redo the update as ong as u have it in before the 31st.

thanks guys. So I’m not gonna do IGETC, but I dropped the newspaper class (which is only CSU transferrable) to take Intro to World Religions (3 units) and Swimming (1 unit) to add it up to 60. how’s that?

call the uc administration office and tell them you need to make changes to your update. they will allow you to do so. I suggest doing this asap because without 60 units you don’t qualify for upper division transfer.

I already re updated my grades on the website. I think I would’ve had until the 31st to do so.

ur set now!
