If I have been invited to interview for the Berkeley Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship, does that mean I have been accepted to the University even though UCB has not posted admissions decisions yet?

Please, please don't quote me on this, but I think so. I got a Regents' finalist notice from UCSC, and it read in part (paraphrased): "We will be offering you admission when we send out decisions." Did yours have something like that?

Eh, I wish I could get into Berkeley. I applied, but I doubt I have a shot. Congrats, anyhow.

The general consensus on this board is "yes", though it could be overtly optimistic thinking.

It is confirmed that Regents' interview means that you are in.

kyt, are you absolutely sure about this? and what if someone decides not to do the interview..could Berkeley still reject them based on this?

Yes. I'm absolutely sure. I'm not sure if what happens if you decline the interview but I'm pretty sure you're still in.

yes
congrats!!

Same thing happened to my daughter a couple of years ago, and the answer is yes, you are in at UC Berkeley.

yes, you are in. It will be the first thing they tell you when you arrive for the interview. Congrats!

Thanks. I've wanted to go to Berkeley since I was nine. When I got the invitation to interview for the Regents' Scholarship, I was reluctant to let myself think that it meant I got in. I hope you guys are right. Thank you for the encouragement.

Good news :) I just got that letter about a week ago. I still have to RSVP online, though.
