Regular Decision 2020

That school is so tiny - you don’t need any of the scholars program perks. You basically have them in that super small environment!

I think you know that the second part is ridiculous and offensive. Obviously we don’t just make decisions based on ACT and SAT scores. Those are four hour exams.

Yes, the review takes a while because multiple people review the file and more information arrives during the process. There are definitely times when I’ve been on the fence about an applicant and a colleague’s thoughts on it or the mid-year report have convinced me to recommend an offer (sadly, the opposite sometimes happens, too).

@spodankle being bitter solves nothing. Pick yourself up and move on. UVA just helped you in determining which school is right for you-- if you weren’t accepted, then clearly it’s not the best fit.

Calm down. Just let go, it’s over. Plenty of people get in with lower stats, especially from NoVA. My white friend with no SAT IIs and an 1870 SAT got in. It’s a holistic admission for a reason. Your anger will get you no where but to the dark side.

  1. Beautiful. Galling.

Boeheim, if you have your game plan of all game plans, spring it Sunday.

DD was surprised and delighted to gain admission to UVA. She is interested in economics/finance. She was also admitted to Pomona College and Babson. How would you choose?

@Redpandabear those are all very different universities, I’m sure she will be attracted to one in particular if you visited them again/researched them more

I’d say visit! Really changes your perspective, I think.

UVA should do a study of why bright people are rejected if they wear shoes and have teeth.

I know scholars/honors notifications were supposed to go out today via email, has anyone received anything yet?

Wow. Another case of test scores being meaningless. Why the requirement, UVA?
