It worries me because I can’t login at ALL, like it is telling me that my information doesn’t match their records, leading me to assume they don’t have anything for me. I’m painfully impatient, and I don’t think the mail is going to arrive until Thursday which is AGONIZING! lol.

Hopefully, I will come home to a nice big packet, Thursday or Friday. :)

@MassaSenior Are you sure you haven’t received an email from American at all? Anything about your application? Your AU ID is usually at the bottom of an email that they send. Can you try signing in? Not into the Prospective Student Portal, but the portal at myau.american.edu, apparently if you can login you were likely accepted. But everything isn’t set in stone, but just try it. :)

@MassaSenior For whatever reason American doesn’t set up your portal for you. You just have to set it up on your own using your AU ID that they include at the bottom of all the emails to you. You can make a Prospective Student Portal, which is basically just for signing up for AU events and some general info. There’s a check application status link, but it just always says that applications are under review. Not very much helpful stuff.

What everyone is talking about in this thread is making an actual AU Student Account. The logic is (although the logic is hardly solid) that if you’ve been accepted you should be able to log in as a student.

All that to say, don’t worry. You don’t have to make an account or do anything in order know if you got in. Unless you’re impatient like us haha. They’re sending out the letters to just about everyone this week. All you need is the letter.

I wasn’t able to get onto the student portal before, but I was just able to go on, see the congratulations and financial aid. No mention of merit.

Should I have gotten an email from AU yet? I haven’t gotten a single email from them even after I sent my application so I don’t even have my AU ID.

Nope. I’ve checked my parents’ emails too. Nothing. I applied for financial aid and even made a Prospective Student Portal Account but no response.

I’m sorry but it looks like you will have to wait for your letter. Have you checked back to the commonapp to make sure that all of your materials have been downloaded?

@MassaSenior Nooooo, I was hoping it would work for you! Haha

I think I’ll get some shut-eye and then check it out tomorrow morning, maybe they just took a little break and were going alphabetically? I am pretty far down the alphabet. :
