Regular Decision Applicants

Portal says "Thank you for your interest in American University. Applications are currently being reviewed.

In the event that required documents are missing, you will be notified by us via mail. In the meanwhile, please visit our website to keep up with the latest news about American University. Admission decisions will be released by the beginning of April. "

That is the prospective students portal. Try creating an account here… http://www.american.edu/oit/software/Portal.cfm

@reenski , That’s a different portal, that’s the Prospective Student Portal. People are signing on to the actual student portal on myau.american.edu

So if I am able to sign in to both the new and old portals where do I go specifically to confirm that I have been admitted?

Thanks!

where do you find the au ID then?

On the bottom of past emails the school sent you

@mfaye9 I am not sure if I am completely correct but it is my understanding that if you are able to sign in and make an account you were most likely admitted. I think the only credible confirmation is your acceptance letter in the mail.

@reenski I think you should look through the emails American has sent you. It’s usually at the bottom, it’s a 7-digit number.

If there is anyone who could not log in, but later receives a letter stating that they have been accepted, please post this.

You guys are like totally jumping the gun. For some of you, they might have added you to the system but they are probably still working through things. Admissions probably think most students will wait for an email or letter or something.

Can those of you near the DC area post if you get your letter today? Just so the rest of the country knows if they were sent yesterday and when we can expect them. Thanks! :)

I’m really confused, I am an international student and they said they’d send out decisions via E-Mail on March 17th. I haven’t received anything, and I can’t log on with my AU ID, it just gives me the message that it can’t recognize it. I’m pretty scared that thats a sign of rejection, any other international students having the same problem?

@suspense22 The offices were closed yesterday, so maybe they weren’t able to get any decisions out? I also can’t log in with my ID. I’m not sure what to think so I think I’ll just wait for my letter.

That could definitely be the problem. I’m still anxious for my decision, especially because I can’t login and many others seem to be able to.

For you all that can’t login like me, when did you complete the application. I think that has a factor in this.

I submitted my application on CommonApp on the day of the deadline, however there were some issues about the English Proficiency Requirement, so my file was complete a couple of weeks later.

@singitbrookieg I finished my around the last couple of days of the deadline on CommonApp. What are you thinking, that it may affect it?

Trying to log in and causing unnecessary stress is ridiculous especially when it’s such a iffy indicator of acceptance. Just wait a couple of days, it’s not like school starts anytime soon anyway.

Maybr they’re setting them up in order of apply dates, because we all were some of the last to apply.

hi. so i live about 20-25 minutes away from DC and havent received anything…just letting everyone know. i am hoping for tommorow!

^in the mail that is. i am able to login to au portal
