@Kayla911rae I agree, it is rather strange. At first I felt odd about it but I am coming more and more to terms with this decision and I am considering also doing the Washington Mentorship Program.

@jules329 I was also admitted for spring. You receive the same size packet as a regular Fall admitted student, however there is a letter explaining why you were chosen for Spring 2015, and a brochure for the WMP program. I am also disappointed but I am taking this decision in stride!

I got my acceptance letter on Friday (Southwestern PA)!

My essays were pretty good; same with my rec’s. I applied for both FDDS and the Honors Program and wasn’t accepted to either, but I did get into the American University Scholars program. Anybody else?

I also got a total of $46,300 in financial aid/scholarships. So far it’s my best offer.

@hopmayer…congrats. Been seeing your name pop up on several schools. Sounds like you have done well with acceptances. So what’s your top choice?

Still waiting in CT for that envelope!! But got an email inviting me to an overnight for the AU Honors or Community Scholars but the problem is, I can’t RSVP because I don’t know which one I am!! This is nuts1

Just got an email about Honors & Scholars Overnight events but I still haven’t gotten my acceptance letter. I’m assuming that means i;m into one of these. I didn’t apply to the honors program though. Does anybody know what the scholar program is?

Really? @collegebound752 I disagree. I got $30,500 in total money, for one year. I wouldn’t say that it is an “awful” amount. I was genuinely surprised and pleasantly shocked.

I only got around $20,000 which leaves $30,000+. I have a single mom so that’s not gonna work. Bowdoin gave me almost a full ride with no loans so I can’t even consider American anymore

My daughter is also waiting and cannot create a student account. One student in our town heard on Friday. Hopefully something will arrive today.

We have received nothing in the mail yet in western PA and due to not being able to sign on to new student accounts are expecting bad news. I am more than a little surprised because her stats fit in really well with American. Thankfully D received a “yes” from one of her top choices on Friday. Congrats to all those accepted to American. It’s a wonderful school!

My daughter has already been accepted to University of Maryland as a Scholar, Boston Univeristy, U of Florida and Emerson College. I would be shocked if she doesn’t get into American, but I have seen stranger things happen when it comes to college admissions! Still waiting on George Washington and NYU.
