Here is a reprint of the email we received on March 12:

Dear xxxxx,
You’ve worked hard on your college applications and now you’re waiting anxiously for a response. We are in the final stages of preparation to release our admit decisions for the Class of 2018, so you’ll have your answer from us soon.

Just to be clear, this update is being sent to all of our 15,000 applicants and should not be taken to mean a notice of an admission decision, but simply an update on our expected mailing schedule.

Mailing Schedule Overview

We will begin mailing all of our admissions decision letters to students with U.S. postal addresses starting next week. The volume of applications received requires several days to process and prepare for mailing. How quickly you receive your admission decision depends largely on where you live.

We email decisions only to students who have addresses outside of the U.S. to ensure timely receipt, and so that we may schedule visits with them abroad to answer any questions they might have. So if you have friends living outside the U.S., it is possible that you might learn of their admission decision ahead of your own.

Decisions for students within the U.S. will not be released over the phone, or via email. If you have not received any notification by April 1, please feel free to reach out to your regional representative.

We know we’ve asked a lot of you over the last couple of months, but we have just one more favor to ask. If you have already made a commitment to another college or university, could you please let us know today?

Thank you,

Greg Grauman

Your AU ID is xxxxxx

I never received that email…

Don’t worry about it @summeraus

summeraus - it says in the email being sent to everyone, does not mean admission. Perhaps you missed it or it was sent to another email address or a parent’s email?

@SummerAus are you an international student? I am and I never got that email too

I’m not technically (US Citizen) but I live overseas

I live in America and my parents got the email

I don’t want to read into it to much, but did everyone get an email about the basketball team?

Also @SummerAus don’t worry about it, I think those emails were sent to people living in the U.S

@newstudent1996 i got the basketball email but i dont think it means anything. maybe?

The email about the school’s team making playoffs? Yeah don’t read into that at all. Most schools use boasts about their sports teams for some easily veiled advertising.

I didn’t get that either! haha does anyone have any idea what time emails will be sent to internationals? I’m guessing some time tomorrow

Your parents might have gotten it. My parents get all of them. They also may have not sent them to internationals.

I would guess that internationals should expect an admissions decision by email from mid tomorrow to Wednesday, based off of past threads.

Anyone able to log into http://www.american.edu/oit/software/Portal.cfm

I’ve seen people do this in past years to figure out if they got in. Not being able to doesn’t mean you didn’t make it though, it means they haven’t set yours up yet I’m assuming.

Just try to make a student account

omg! i was able to create an account!!! does this mean i got ot!!!

Look through it and see. Most likely

Where did you get the id number

I just logged in too!!!
