Regular Decision Consideration Begins When?

I was reading over Dean J's Admissions blog and it said SAT scores take "weeks" to send.

I will be applying RD and am finished taking the regular SAT but in December I will be taking Subject Tests and I don't want my application to be considered before those scores arrive.

At my school I have to submit the application (in this case through the Common App) then request my transcript, school report, and letters of recommendation be sent. This takes about a week for everything to be submitted electronically.

I took the November SAT and have not sent it yet because I will be submitting my application + transcripts/rec letters in early December.

So I would like to know when/how application review starts after all required materials are submitted (Application + School Report + Transcript + Test Scores) because I don't want my application to be reviewed before my non-required test scores are on file with the school, even though the rest of my stuff will be sent in already so I don't miss the deadline.

I know the UVA website says the last recommended SAT date for RD is in December, does this mean if I designate that I am taking the December SAT on my application, it won't be reviewed until my December scores have arrived? I will list UVA as a score recipient for my December Subject Tests so they aren't delayed.

Designate UVa as a recipient of the December scores up front and they will be sent to us by the end of December. We don’t start reading RD until after the deadline.

I started reading EA apps today. :)

when do EA decisions begin to get released?

All of the decisions will be released at once. We say we’ll be done by the end of January. You can look at January posts on the blog to see what it has happened in the past.

Applications are up a little bit, so no promises of an early release. We might need the whole month of January.
