WillyD123 glad to hear that hopefully my decision is in the mail and will be here soon then as I am computer engineering which is linked to electrical.

Seems like engineering decisions are going out?

Ahhhhhhh! :’) I called in on my application and they told me I got accepted :)

Congrats, lilmelonred!!

I’ve been rooting for you. You seem to be positing on several of the forums of schools I’m checking out for my S.

Thanks dadinator!! Haha Yeah I’ve seen you around on cc ;). I applied to engineering programs. What major or program is your son interested in?

He is only a sophomore in high school.

Originally, it was computer science and / or information technolgy. Now, I think it is just information technology.

So far his list has RIT, Drexel, Northeastern, RPI, and Syracuse.

When you take out computer science, that eliminates a lot of schools.

Lilmelonred what office did you call im slightly to anxious about this i have to give them a call tomorrow?

Dadinator, I know this has no real base and most of this is from a different parent i met on this site but hopefully your letting your kid be a kid in this whole process. I know for me I told my parents hands off and to not touch any of my stuff. I took care of all my applications, my college searches, my appointments (interviews, tours, etc.). They obviously took part and came with me and helped me out when I was stuck. But I have to say the whole process is a complete crapshoot and it has taught me a lot. I know to many parents who are on top of their kids from their first step into highschool until their graduation date and i really wish it stopped. Most kids cant manage everything this college process throws at them between making sure all applications hit the right date and it is a great time for them to grow in terms of scheduling responsibility. I know i have a much different view on college then most kids whos parents did the kids common application practically for them and spoon fed them college since the day they hit highschool. Giving your kid the trust in getting all his deadlines done does so much for them and it helps you and them bond. I am not sure why i wrote this probably a pet peeve of mine and I dont know your situation but just a thought.

They told me the admissions reviewed my file and I was accepted. You call the admissions office.

Anxiously check the mail everyday for a big orange envelope, but nothing so far.

DS was admitted in Computer Science on 2/21 - his BD. Nice BD present! No word on Merit Aid/ Scholarships.
Also tried portal for application updates but that was a total waste of time. He applied using common app, maybe that’s why?
Anyway, he’s happy - he’s 7/7 so far , including Drexel and Rose Hulman and waiting for UC’s.

Tech support told my son that the portal does not report acceptance immediately. The fastest way, they said, is to call admissions, who will be able to tell you by phone. The portal is usually updated later.

Still waiting :(

Did you call in and ask?

The big orange envelope was in the mailbox yesterday. That made my girl’s day! No word on financial aid/merit aid/Honors yet - and the portal doesn’t show anything different - the check list is still there.

She was admitted to the illustration program.

ConfusedMom - amazing, just sayin’. Have our boys applied to all the same places?

My son was accepted at RIT. He is deaf - RIT has as one of its colleges National Technical Institute for the Deaf. My son has always been mainstreamed but really liked RIT when we visited. Apparently, you can take classes anywhere - he wouldn’t be only in NTID. We’ll see! Good luck to your son. This waiting is the pits.

ConfusedMom: I just sent you a private message.

BTMell-Sure seems like it!! Congrats on RIT. My hubby and I really liked it (except for the drive). We love the co-op program, everyone seemed to really like it there. We heard the Dean of the Engineering school speak and I really liked him. For some reason the feel of the campus just did not appeal to him. My DS’s top choice is UConn.

Once we get through this waiting then it will be waiting on FA info!!

i got accepted to economics yayyyyy!!!

Got my acceptance several days ago along with scholarship information (I live in Rome, so not sure how this works for people in the US). Good luck! :)

My son got an acceptance packet just a few days ago for graphic design. No mention of any scholarship, so we’re assuming there is none? Would they mention in the acceptance letter if they are offering you a scholarship?
