Regular Decision

I have heard the decisions are postmarked on April 8th. Do they every let you know earlier than that?

The ND website says early April. I don’t know if that is specific for this year or just a general guideline. Last year letters were mailed @3/29 and the year before @ the 23rd or so.

The published date is April 1, as ejcclc points out. This is the date for almost all highly selective schools. However, there is a definite advantage for the college to being the first envelope opened by the most talented applicants - eveyone wants to know that someone likes them. They want to do a thorough review, but they also want to get the admit letters out as soon as possible.

My daughter applied RD last year and received a letter inviting her to the Glynn Family Honors program and to the Reilly Weekend in the second week of March. “I guess you’re in,” I told her. The official acceptance letter came on April 2, 2012. She attended Reilly, was accepted to Glynn, but ultimately chose another school. She was blessed to have a happy dilemma. Good luck to everyone!!!
