I’m a sophomore in high school and in precalculus, and i really want to be in honors but the school year just began and I already have a 92 in the class, and my teacher is planning on giving me a diagnostic test, so I’m not sure if I should just stay in my regular class.
If you feel you can take the challenge, then go with honors, otherwise stay with regular. Honors could be slightly more accelerated than regular courses (at least it was at my school), so if you take your time with understanding topics, honors might not be the best choice. Best of luck with your high school adventures.
Challenge yourself if you feel confident that you can handle the added rigor and still get a good grade.
If you are a sophomore and are in pre-calc, then you are very strong in math and should definitely be in honors precalc.
If you are a sophomore and already taking precalculus then pretty much by definition you are an honors student. Why didn’t they place you in honors to begin with? It doesn’t really make sense to accelerate to the point where you can no longer keep up with the honors level.
